The Altroz has been a important product for Tata motors in the country. It has redefined the premium hatchback segment with its features and safety. However, the Punch lacked an option for a mileage-conscious buyer due to a lack of CNG option. Today Tata has solved that part of the puzzle by launching the Altroz CNG at the Auto Expo. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Tata Altroz CNG.
Tata Altroz CNG – Design
The Altroz CNG doesn’t get any changes in the exterior. We have the bold front design with sharp headlamps and a aggressive grille. The side profile is same as the ICE-Altroz. At the rear, we have the i-CNG badging, the only new thing on the car. In the interiors, we don’t see any changes. Like the Punch CNG, the Altroz CNG also comes with twin-cylinder technology leading to a decent enough boot space.
Specifications
The Tata Altroz iCNG comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. In its petrol form, this engine is capable of producing 84bhp and 113Nm of torque. Unlike other cars, Tata cars don’t lose performance in CNG modes. The CNG comes only with the 5-speed manual gearbox.
Tata Altroz CNG – Features
The Punch iCNG continues with all the features. So the Punch i-CNG gets features like a 7.0-inch infotainment system, Harman sound system, automatic climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel etc. Safety features will include dual airbags, cornering lamps and ISOFIX.
Pricing and variants
Tata didn’t reveal the pricing of the Altroz i-CNG, but it plans to launch the it soon. Tata could offer i-CNG in these variants of the Punch- Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. The Punch iCNG will rival the upcoming Citroen C3 CNG.
