Royal Enfield has announced the prices of the much-anticipated Super Meteor 650 cruiser, which now serves as the brand’s new flagship motorcycle globally. The new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 has been launched in three variants – Astral, Interstellar and Celestial, with a starting price of Rs 3,48,900.

Among the three variants launched, while the Astral and Interstellar variants are categorized under the Standard version, the Celestial variant serves as the standalone variant of the top-of-the-line Tourer version. Compared to the Standard version, the Tourer version gets exclusive dual-tone Celestial paint schemes, a pillion backrest and a transparent windscreen. There are three colours for the base-spec Astral variant, while the Interstellar and Celestial variants get two colour options each.

Same engine as the Interceptor 650
The new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 shares its four-stroke, parallel-twin, air-cooled, 648cc engine with the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT650. However, in the Super Meteor 650, this engine features revised mapping and gearing and produces a maximum power output of 47 bhp and a peak torque output of 52 Nm. Here in the Super Meteor 650, the peak torque output comes 500 rpm earlier, compared to the other 650cc twins. With a kerb weight of 241 kg, the Super Meteor 650 now ranks as the heaviest motorcycle from Royal Enfield.
Featuring a seat height of 740mm, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 has forward-set foot pegs and slightly higher handlebars for an authentic cruiser appeal. The motorcycle comes with a 19-inch front wheel and a 16-inch rear wheel, shod with tubeless tyres. The suspension combination of the Super Meteor 650 includes Showa 43mm upside-down hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and twin hydraulic coil springs at the rear. With this, the Super Meteor 650 becomes the first-ever Royal Enfield motorcycle to get upside-down front forks. It also gets a 320mm disc at the front and a 300mm disc at the rear for halting duties, paired with a dual-channel ABS as standard.
In terms of features, the Super Meteor 650 is the first-ever motorcycle from Royal Enfield to get a full-LED headlamp, apart from an LED tail lamp and halogen rounded turn indicators. The motorcycle comes with a split seat setup along with a tripper navigation unit offered as standard. Unlike other 650cc motorcycles, the Super Meteor 650 gets cast aluminium switch cubes inspired by the new-generation 350cc motorcycles from Royal Enfield.
