Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha spotted riding her Royal Enfield Meteor 350 [Video]

Bollywood actors riding their motorbikes is not something out of the ordinary. Although what is not seen every day is a Bollywood actress riding a bike on public roads. Recently the “Dabangg” fame actress Sonakshi Sinha was seen riding her Royal Enfield Meteor 350 on roads in Mumbai. The actress has starred in one of the commercials for the Meteor 350 as well.

The YouTube short video of Sonakshi riding the Royal Enfield bike has been uploaded by Bollywood News on their channel. In the video, we can note that the actress is driving a Royal Enfield Meter 350 finished in the shade of Fireball Yellow. Furthermore, we can also notice that although she is riding alone she is being followed by her security team in what seems to be a Mercedes Benz sedan. The actress can be seen driving up the slope of a building in the video.

As mentioned above the actress has also been seen in the commercial for the Royal Enfield Meteor 350. The actress in the advertisement can be seen standing on a balcony in front of what appears to be the Worli Sea link bridge. The actress can be seen coming out of her apartment and heading towards the bike. Sonakshi then sits on the Fireball Yellow Meteor and then wear a Royal Enfield branded helmet.

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 was launched in three variants namely Fireball, Stellar and Supernova. The bike starts from Rs. 1.75 lakhs ex-showroom and goes all the way up to Rs. 1.90 lakhs ex-showroom. The Meteor 350 is based on the brand’s new “J” platform which is much lighter. The bike comes powered by a 349 cc, air-cooled engine that is capable of producing 20.4 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 27Nm. The engine gets a counter-balancer and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox for smooth-shifting. The motorcycle gets dual-channel ABS as standard as well.

Recently the company also launched more powerful variant of the Meteor called the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. This bike is currently the flagship Royal Enfield motorbike across the globe. The model has been launched in three variants – Astral, Interstellar and Celestial, with a starting price of Rs 3,48,900. The Celestial variation is the stand-alone variant of the top-of-the-line Tourer version, whereas the Astral and Interstellar versions are listed under the Standard version. In comparison to the Standard version, the Tourer variant adds a pillion backrest, a glass windscreen, and distinctive dual-tone Celestial paint schemes. The base-spec Astral version comes in three colours, while the Interstellar and Celestial variants each have two colour choices.

In terms of the powertrain, the new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 shares its four-stroke, parallel-twin, air-cooled, 648cc engine with the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT650. Although the key difference is that the Super Meteor 650, uses this engine with updated mapping and gearing to generate a maximum of 47 horsepower and a maximum of 52 Nm of torque. When compared to other 650cc twins, the Super Meteor 650’s peak torque output occurs 500 rpm earlier. The Super Meteor 650 is currently Royal Enfield’s heaviest motorbike with a kerb weight of 241 kg.
