Safety standards are improving in the country. As the market matures, people are looking to buy safer cars. Structurally we are seeing the change, but we are also seeing more active safety features. Active safety features try to avoid accidents in the first place. ADAS is one such active safety feature. In India, some cars have started getting ADAS, and more are expected to get this feature. New Hyundai Verna
Hyundai is working on giving Verna a major update. The brand has already started teasing the new Verna. This new Verna is going to be more premium than the outgoing model. Hyundai is yet to tease ADAS, but the car has been spotted with the radar module several times. Other new features include 10.25-inch infotainment, a new digital instrument cluster, etc. Hyundai has confirmed that it will be launching the new Verna on the 21st of March 2023.
Kia Seltos Facelift
The Seltos has been an important car in Kia’s portfolio in the country. It has gone from strength to strength in the last few years. However, now the Seltos have started feeling a bit outdated. To counter this, Kia is working on its facelifted model. The car has been spotted testing in India with an ADAS module at the front. So the higher variants could get ADAS. Other changes include design tweaks and some new features. The Seltos facelift is expected to be launched in mid-2023.
Cars with ADAS – Hyundai Creta facelift
Like the Seltos, the Creta is also expected to get ADAS in its next update. Hyundai is working on the Creta facelift for the Indian market. This car will be different from the Tucson-inspired front design one that the brand launched in Indonesia. Hopefully, Hyundai adds ADAS to the Indian version. Other than ADAS, we could see a refreshed design and new features like a 360-degree camera, updated instrument cluster etc. Hyundai is expected to launch the Creta facelift sometime in 2024.
New Kia Carnival
Kia showcased the new Carnival at the Auto Expo 2023. The new Carnival gets several new updates like an updated front design and several new features. Unsurprisingly, the new Carnival also comes with ADAS features. Kia has been quite tight-lipped about revealing its launch plans for the new Carnival. However, it did showcase the car at the Expo, so we think it could head to India.
Cars with ADAS – New Tata Nexon
Tata is already known for its safe cars and is looking to take that a step ahead. Recently Tata introduced ADAS on the Safari and Harrier. According to rumours, Tata is planning to introduce ADAS on the Nexon in its next update. If that happens it will be the first compact SUV to get ADAS. Other than ADAS, the new Nexon will get a design change and some new features. The new Nexon is expected to be launched by the end of this year or sometime in 2024.
