2 new KTM bikes launched – What’s new?

The bike segment is seeing a lot of activity in the country. In the last few months, we have seen the launches of Karizma, the Triumph Speed 400 and the Harley Davidson X440. Now, KTM has also launched two new bikes to stay up to date with the competition. In today’s article, let’s talk about these two new KTM bikes. 

New KTM 390 Duke

KTM has launched the new generation KTM 390 Duke in one variant priced at Rs 3.71 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). It gets several updates over the outgoing model, including a new 399cc engine. This engine is now capable of producing 45.37bhp and 39Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The Austrian brand has also updated the frame making it lighter leading to a higher power-to-weight ratio. It comes with a 33mm upside-down front fork and a mono-shock at the rear. At the front, we have 320mm front disc and 240mm disc brake at the rear. Braking aids include dual-channel ABS, cornering & supermoto ABS. 

Other design changes include a new tank design, LED headlamps with LED DRLs and a split seat setup. Colour options include Atlantic Blue and electronic Orange Metallic. Feature-wise, we have a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, launch control and drive modes – Street, Rain and Track. 

New KTM bikes – 250 Duke

KTM has launched the new generation KTM 250 Duke in one variant priced at Rs 2.79 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The 250 Duke now comes with a ride-by-wire and quick shifter as standard. Like the 390 Duke, the 250 Duke comes with a new liquid-cooled engine. KTM hasn’t revealed the specifications of this new engine. The bike comes with an upside-down front fork and an off-seat rear monoshock. Braking duties are handled by dual disc brakes. 

The 250 Duke comes with cosmetic changes like an aggressive tank expansion and LED headlamps. Colour options on the 250 Duke include Electronic Orange and Ceramic White. Feature-wise, we have a 5-inch instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity and a USB type-C charging port.
