According to reports, the company is planning to launch the new 4X2 models with automatic transmission, as it currently only offers the AT transmission in 4X4 variants. This new 4X2 AT model is intended to bring in new buyers, as many people want to get the automatic transmission but do not want the 4X4 capabilities. Currently, the Compass 4X4 AT starts at Rs 29.84 lakh in India for the Limited variant. The Compass is also offered with an automatic transmission in the top-of-the-line Model S variant, which costs Rs 32.07 lakh.

Apart from this, it has been reported that the company will be offering the updated Compass in five trims. These variants will be namely the Sport, Longitude, Longitude+, Limited, and Model S trims. Currently, the lineup starts with the Sport trim, and it will be the same for the new updated model as well. Just like the outgoing model, this base-spec model will be only offered with the diesel manual drivetrain option. Following this base spec, the company will add a brand new Longitude variant, which will come equipped with both the 2WD manual as well as the 9-speed automatic gearbox. It has not been confirmed; however, reports have stated that this new model could be launched with a starting price tag of around Rs 27 lakh, on-road.

Last but not least, the top-of-the-line Model S will continue to be offered with the new updated Jeep Compass. Just like the outgoing model, it will come equipped with the 4X4 system and automatic transmission. However, along with this, it will now also come with the 4X2 automatic transmission option as well. Lastly, the company will be offering all of the variants with a new design for the alloy wheels. Also, what will be new is a brand new chrome grille, which will be available on the Limited and Model S trims.
