MG Hector SUV prices cut

The prices for cars and bikes have been increasing in India due to various reasons, including the rise in the price of raw materials. Surprisingly, MG Motor India recently announced that they are reducing the price of their popular 5-seater SUV, Hector. Depending on the variant, the discount or revised price changes. It ranges from Rs 29,000 for the lower variants to Rs 1.29 lakh for the higher models. Hector was MG’s first offering in the Indian market and also the first car to come with connected car features. It should be noted that the price reduction is currently applicable only for the 5-seater version and not the three-row Plus variant.

MG is offering the Hector SUV in seven variants: Style, Shine, Smart, Smart EX, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro. After the price revision, the starting price for a brand new MG Hector is Rs 14.72 lakh ex-showroom, and it goes up to Rs 21.70 lakh ex-showroom. MG launched the 2023 version of the Hector in the market earlier this year. A detailed review and walkaround video of it are available on our website and YouTube channel.

The MG Hector facelift comes with a large grille at the front with chrome garnishes. This gives the SUV a premium look. It features dual-function LED DRLs and dual projector LED headlamps on the bumper. The lower part of the bumper has a silver faux skid plate, and the fog lamps are LED units as well. The side profile of the SUV remains unchanged, with 18-inch alloy wheels, body cladding, and roof rails. At the back, the new Hector and Hector Plus feature a connecting LED light bar between the LED tail lamps, replacing the black garnish of the previous version. The rear bumper has also been revised with new faux exhaust tips.

MG offers a premium-looking cabin with the Hector. The main attraction here is the 14-inch portrait-style touchscreen infotainment system, which supports new functions and voice commands. It comes with leatherette upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lights, soft-touch material on the slightly redesigned dashboard, an electronic parking brake, and more. The facelifted versions also get additional features like a digital Bluetooth key with key-sharing function. MG has also introduced the ADAS function in the Hector. This has become a common feature in this segment now. It should be noted that this is not autonomous driving technology. This technology is only meant to make the driving experience much more comfortable and reduce the chances of an accident.

When it comes to engine options, MG is offering both petrol and diesel engine options for the Hector. The petrol version is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that generates 141 Bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with a 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox option. The diesel version of the Hector uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged unit that generates 170 Ps and 350 Nm of peak torque. This is the same engine used in the Jeep Compass and Tata Harrier & Safari SUVs. This engine is only available with a manual transmission in the Hector.
