Kia Sonet facelift spied – Connected tail lamps coming?

Kia is now consolidating its foundation in the Indian market. It has already updated the Seltos, and now it seems like the Sonet is soon going to get an update. The car is being spotted regularly in testing and now we have another round of spy shots. These spy shots reveal the rear design of the car. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Kia Sonet facelift.

Spy shots

It is easy to guess this is the Sonet facelift from the design of the side profile. In the spy shots, we can see vertical tail lamps similar to what we see on the Seltos facelift. They do extend into the centre, but it remains to be seen if they are connected or just reflectors like the current model. Kia seems to have tweaked the bumper design, from the protrusion. Another new thing is the 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

Kia Sonet facelift – What else to expect?

The front is also expected to get a new design. We can expect new headlamps and an extended DRL design. Other changes could be made to the grille and bumpers. In the interior, we could see a refreshed dashboard design with a single-piece dashboard layout. We can also expect a new upholstery on the Sonet facelift. In terms of added features, we could see a cooled glovebox, 360-degree camera, electric driver seat and heads-up display. Also, we may see ADAS on the Sonet facelift. Specs-wise, the Sonet facelift should continue with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.0-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine.

Launch and pricing

Kia has quickly shifted its focus towards the Sonet facelift. Earlier it was expected that the Sonet facelift would be launched next year. However, considering the frequency of spy shots, Kia could surprise everyone by launching the car in the festive season. It makes sense, considering the Nexon facelift has raised the bar in this segment, and Kia would want to fire with fire. What about the pricing? Currently, the Sonet starts from Rs 9.13 lakh and goes to Rs 17.87 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). We can expect a price hike of Rs 60k to 70k.
