The popular Indian politician from the Indian National Congress party, Rahul Gandhi, needs no introduction. He has been around for ages in the Indian political scenario and is mostly seen being driven around in bulletproof cars. However, in recent times, he has shared on multiple occasions that he loves riding bikes. So, to rejuvenate his bike riding skills, recently the politician took a trip to Ladakh on a KTM 390 Adventure as part of his “Bharat Jodo Yatra.”
Rahul Gandhi’s Ladakh Bike Trip
Rahul Gandhi first shared the pictures of this Ladakh trip on his social media platforms. But recently, he has also shared a video encapsulating his entire biking road trip on his personal YouTube channel. The video shows him first meeting up with a group of other bike riders, and after introducing each other, they start their ride to Pangong Tso lake in Ladakh. Rahul Gandhi, in this video, shows his candid side and shares his love for riding motorcycles. He is seen enjoying the views that come with riding a motorbike.
The politician during this ride takes stops at numerous locations and talks with a number of local Ladakhi people. He assures them that he will raise all of their concerns in the legislative assembly and help them in improving their living standards in Ladakh. In the meanwhile, he rides his bike through the valleys and mountains of Ladakh and states that no matter what you do, these views cannot be taken from a car. Although Rahul Gandhi was riding his bike, his bodyguards and his entire entourage were closely following him and other bike riders in multiple SUVs in order to protect him. After visiting multiple locations, he ended his journey at the Kargil war memorial.

KTM Adventure 390
The Austrian bikemaker KTM launched the newest iteration of the top-of-the-line 390 Adventure back in 2022. The bikemaker priced this model at Rs. 3.35 lakh (ex-showroom). It was first launched in India back in 2020 with a starting price of Rs 2.99 lakh. The 390 Adventure is the brand’s top-spec rugged bike for off-road terrains. This bike comes equipped with two traction control modes. The first is a Street mode, and the second is an Off-road. The street is the normal mode for everyday driving, while in the Off-road mode, the system allows a limited amount of slip before kicking in. This helps the riders while off-roading.
It also comes equipped with a new set of 5-spoke units. KTM claimed that the new alloy wheels are stiffer. The bike with the new update received two new colors, one was a Dark Galvano Black, and the other was a KTM Factory Racing Blue. In terms of the powerplant of this bike, after the update as well, it still came with a 373 cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. The engine puts out 43.5 PS of max power at 9,000 rpm and 37 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a quick shifter. Braking duties are still done by a 320 mm disc in the front and a 280 mm disc at the rear, respectively. KTM also offers a dual-channel anti-lock braking system. Suspension duties are done by WP upside-down forks in the front and a mono-shock at the rear.
