Tata Nexon and Nexon EV facelift sub-compact SUV waiting periods stretch to 10 weeks

The country’s third-largest carmaker, Tata Motors, recently launched the newest iterations of its immensely popular sub-compact SUVs, Nexon and Nexon EV, in the country. These brand-new cars have shaken up the sub-4-meter SUV segment and the EV segment simultaneously. The company, overwhelmed with the success of the models, recently revealed that both models have amassed a ton of reservations. Owing to this, the waiting periods on both of these Nexon models have shot up, and in some cities, it has become as long as 10 weeks.

One of the dealerships of Tata Motors recently revealed that the waiting periods on the ICE Nexon facelift are around 6 to 8 weeks. It has also been reported that most of the demand for the ICE model is for the entry-level variants, and some of those variants even have extensive waiting periods of around 10 weeks. At the time of writing, the top-spec variants have a maximum waiting period between 8 to 9 weeks. It was also reported that these waiting periods could be stretched further, depending upon the city and state of the dealership.

Additionally, it has also been reported that the newest electric SUV from the brand, the Nexon EV facelift, is also witnessing a huge surge in demand. At the moment, the maximum waiting period on the Nexon EV facelift is around 6-9 weeks, which, according to the source, has been doubled as earlier it was 3-4 weeks. The exact variant-wise waiting period information for the Nexon EV facelift has not been revealed.

Tata Nexon facelift

Tata Motors, as mentioned recently, launched both the Nexon and Nexon EV facelift in the country. The all-new Nexon facelift has been launched in 7 variants, including Smart, Smart+, Pure, Creative, Creative+, Fearless, and lastly Fearless+. The ICE Nexon facelift has been launched with a starting price of Rs 8.09 lakh and goes up to Rs 12.99 lakh.

The new Nexon facelift comes available with two powertrain options. The first is a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum of 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque. The other option is a 1.5-liter diesel engine. This engine produces 113 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. In terms of transmission, both engines come with manual and automated manual transmissions (AMT). On the other hand, the turbo-petrol variant comes equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic as an option. The dual-clutch automatic transmission also gets paddle shifters.

As for the pricing of the new Nexon EV facelift, the company has launched this new EV model with a starting price of Rs 14.74 lakh, and it goes up to Rs 19.94 lakh. Tata Motors has launched the all-new 2023 Nexon EV with 6 variants to choose from. These variants are namely Creative+, Fearless, Fearless+, Fearless+S, Empowered, and Empowered+. Additionally, the Nexon EV is offered with two different battery options, the first is the MR (medium range), and the other is the LR (long range).

The Nexon EV MR comes equipped with the same 30kWh battery offering 325 km of ARAI certified range. Whereas the LR variant continues to boast the same larger 40.5kWh battery offering a 465 km of ARAI certified range. In terms of performance, the MR version of the Nexon EV produces 129 horsepower and 215 Newton-meters of torque, while the LR version generates 145 horsepower and the same 215 Newton-meters of torque.
