Tata Punch EV spotted – Bigger infotainment and more confirmed!

Tata has revolutionised the EV segment in the country with its proactiveness. Earlier this month, it launched the Nexon.ev which it refers to as the game changer in the EV segment. Though the Nexon.ev is good, people seem more excited about the Punch EV. We have been covering all the details of the Punch EV, and now new spy shots have revealed new information. In today’s article, let’s talk about the spotted Tata Punch EV.

New spy shots

The spy shots were sent to us by one of our Twitter followers, Banrakas. He spotted the car on the Mumbai-Pune expressways. Props to Tata for trying to hide its EV identity with a fake exhaust. Talking about the spied car, we don’t see any major changes on the exterior. One change is the new alloy wheel design very similar to the one we see on the new Nexon.ev. In the interiors, we can see the bigger floating infotainment system. It seems to be a 10.25-inch system we see on the ICE Nexon. Its UI could be similar to the Nexon.ev.

Tata Punch EV – Specifications

The Punch EV could come with an LFP battery pack in the range of 26-30kWh. In terms of motor, the Punch EV will come with a new Gen 2 Motor. Power figures should be in the range of the Nexon, but torque will be restricted to offer a better range. We think the Punch will have a claimed range of 300-350km, and the real-life range could range around the 220 to 250km mark.

Other changes

We can expect some design changes on the production version of the Punch EV. Tata could give it connected DRLs and tail lamps showcasing the EV identity. There could be minor changes to the grille and air dam. In the interior, we could see new upholstery colours. Probably, the Punch EV will also get touch-sensitive HVAC controls. Other new features could include a 360-degree camera, all disc brakes, leatherette upholstery, 6 airbags and updated connected car tech.

Tata Punch EV – Launch and price

According to reports, the Punch EV could be launched by the end of this year. Most probably by October end or November. What about the price? Technically, the price of Punch EV should slot between the Tigor EV and Nexon.ev in Tata’s EV lineup. Pricing-wise, we speculate it to be priced in the range of  Rs 13.5 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and go to about Rs 17 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
