Kia Seltos & Kia Carens to receive a price hike

Kia Seltos has been in the limelight since a while now. Few months ago in June, the Seltos received a major update with some changes to exterior & interior with addition of new features like ADAS. Also, Kia recently launched two new variants – GTX+ (S) and X-Line (S) to tackle the long waiting period of the Seltos. However, Kia has planned to revise the pricing of the Seltos and Carens and will be applicable from 1st October 2023. How much hike can we see? Read the article as we share all details.

Kia Seltos & Carens – Pricing Details

The Kia Seltos facelift was launched at a starting price of Rs 12.98 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and goes all the way up to Rs 24.07 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Whereas the newly launched GTX+ (S) and X-Line (S) variants are priced from Rs 22.96 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) going all the way up to Rs 23.60 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Whereas the Kia Carens comes at a starting price of Rs 12.41 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and goes all the way up to Rs 22.71 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

However, Kia has decided to increase the pricing of the Seltos and Carens by 2%. For now, Kia has not mentioned that the increased pricing will be applicable to all the variants or selective variants. But overall, both Seltos and Carens will have an increased price of around Rs 20k to Rs 40k.

Reason

Hardeep S Brar, the National Head of Kia India (sales & marketing) strongly feels that this is the right time for them to revise the pricing of their cars. Here’s what he has to say-

“While many of the companies have already taken the price increase post-April, we, however, did not take… besides, the raw material prices are going up, and we introduced the new Seltos, and a lot of investment has gone into the product, so we think it is time that we take the price increase.”

Kia Seltos & Carens – No Major Changes

Apart from revised pricing, the Seltos and Carens will remain the same. The features list will be the same and so will be the engine and transmission options. The Kia Seltos competes with the SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, VW Taigun & Skoda Kushaq. Whereas the Carens competes with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga/Toyota Rumion & XL6.
