We gave you options of other cars which could be considered instead of Swift. However, the launch of next gen Swift was also expected to happen soon. Adding to the excitement, Suzuki has unveiled the concept of the next gen Swift. The images have revealed the exterior and interior and the car looks even more sporty. 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift – Exterior
As per the images of the new gen Swift, the overall design is very similar to the current gen model. The front continues to get a similar headlamp setup (now blacked out) but it now gets a larger grille with honeycomb pattern. However, the new bonnet is the noticeable change on the new Swift. It gets an SUV-like clamshell bonnet with an evident new horizontal shut line.
From the side the silhouette remains the same as before. However, Suzuki has made some important revisions to make the cabin less claustrophobic. When noticed closely, the rear door handles which were previously positioned on the C-pillars, are now moved on the rear doors. The change made Suzuki possible to add a quarter glass instead to make the cabin a bit more airy. A thoughtful change by the brand.
The rear gets new tail lamps which get transparent glass replacing the red glass from the current model. It also gets redesigned bumpers and a new rear spoiler. Overall Suzuki has maintained the design language as the current model as it is loved by the most and only tweaked a few elements to add more sportier appeal to the Swift.
Interior
The new gen Swift now gets an all new dashboard layout. The images revealed black and white dual-tone theme on the new Swift. Also the touchscreen system that was earlier integrated onto the dashboard is now like a free standing unit. The circular AC vents are now redesigned as horizontal vents, similar to the older gen model. The AC control panel also appears to be new and while the steering wheel is the same, the graphics for the instrument cluster looks all new.
It gets the new 9.0-inch touchscreen system that could get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It could also get improved connected car tech, wireless charging, 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera and head-up display.
Specifications
The new gen Swift is said to be launched with a 48V strong hybrid powertrain. We could see Maruti bringing this option to India too. The other engine will be the same 1.2-litre engine that powers the current gen model. It is a petrol engine that produces 88.5bhp and 113Nm of torque and comes paired to a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmission.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift – Launch date
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is all set to launch this year in Japan. However Suzuki will not take a long time to launch the new Swift in India. We expect the India launch to happen in early 2024. With the changes, a price hike of Rs 80k to 1 lakh is expected over the current model.
