The SUV space continues to be one of the most fiercely competitive segments in the country. Even manufacturers like Nissan have tasted decent success with the Magnite. Recently, Nissan also launched the Kuro edition of the Magnite to attract customers. Next up, we can expect a major upgrade for the Magnite. So what to expect in this upgrade? Expected changes

The design of the Magnite doesn’t look outdated by any stretch of the imagination. Nevertheless, being a facelifted model we can expect some minor tweaks to the design. We could see the usual changes like new front bumpers and tweaked grille design. The side profile could adorn a new alloy wheel design. At the rear, we could see a connected tail lamp design that seems to be the current trend. 

New Nissan Magnite – Specifications

The Magnite will continue with its current 1.0-litre turbo petrol and 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol is capable of producing 99bhp & 160Nm of torque. Transmission options will continue manual and automatic. While the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol is capable of producing 71bhp and 96Nm of torque. Transmission options will continue with the manual and recently introduced AMT gearbox. 

New features

The Magnite shook the market with the number of features it was offering at such an attractive price. In the update, Nissan could cover some shortcomings by offering auto-dimming IRVM, 6-airbags, paddle shifters, automatic headlights etc. Could Nissan give it a sunroof? That will require some heavy modifications, but let’s wait and watch. The Magnite will continue with features like a 360-degree camera, digital instrument cluster, wireless charging etc.

Nissan has stated that it plans to launch 6 new cars in the future. With these new cars, we can expect an update to the Magnite. Renault has confirmed that an update for the Kiger is in the pipeline, so we can expect it on the Magnite too. Also, the Magnite will be completing three years in the market and most manufacturers update their cars in this time frame. We can expect the updated Magnite sometime in 2024. What about the price hike? We can expect a price hike of Rs 50k to 60k depending on the variants.
