5-door Mahindra Thar spotted again! Close-up spy shots

It is no secret that Mahindra is working on the 5-door Thar. Of late, the car is being regularly spotted testing in the northern parts of the country. Mahindra seems to doing a lot of high-altitude testing on the Thar 5-door. Now we have obtained a new set of spy shots of the Thar 5-door spotted in Leh. These images give us a close-up look at the Thar 5-door. In today’s article, let’s talk about the 5-door Mahindra Thar.

New spy shots

Straight away talking about the spy shots, we can see the new front design of the Thar 5-door. We can see the new grille with vertical and horizontal inserts. Then we have circular LED projector headlamps and LED turn indicators beside them. The front bumper is also slightly tweaked with the fog lamps. The hood has a prominent bump, which could be a hood scoop. In the side profile, we again have a lot of bumps, which could be restricted for the test mule. Overall the thar 5-door has a good amount of road presence.

Other known things

The Thar 5-door is going to get changes in the interiors and more creature comforts. For starters, it is expected to come with a new 10-inch floating infotainment system. With the new infotainment, we can also expect new upholstery and HVAC controls. Earlier spy shots have also confirmed the presence of a sunroof, centre armrest etc. What about the specifications? We could see the 2.0-litre petrol (200bhp/370Nm) and 2.2-litre diesel engine (172bhp/370Nm). The transmission option should include a manual and an automatic option on both these engines.

5-door Mahindra Thar – Launch

Mahindra has already stated that it plans to launch the 5-door SUV in 2024. Also, the spied car looks very much like a production-ready model hinting that a launch could happen in the first half of 2024. What about the pricing? Talking about the price of the Thar 5-door, we expect it to start from Rs 19 lakh and go to Rs 24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
