Royal Enfield is gearing up to end this year with a bang with the launch of the Himalayan 450. It has revealed the other bits of the bike like design and colour options. Now, ahead of the launch, it has unveiled the specifications of the bike. So, what to expect from the bigger Himalayan? Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

The Himalayan 450 debuts with a new engine, Royal Enfield is calling this engine ‘Sherpa 450’. This 451cc engine is capable of producing 39bhp and 40Nm of torque. Its 40Nm torque is the highest among single-cylinder engines. The new engine is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. Braking duties will be handled by a single 320mm disc at the front and a 270mm disc at the back. Dual-channel ABS is standard, and it can be turned off at the rear. 

We have a new twin-spar that encloses the engine with USD front forks and pre-load adjustable mono-shock. We have a ground clearance of 230mm. Wheel sizes of the Himalayan 450 are 21 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear. Tyre sizes are 90/90-21 at the front and 140/80-R17 at the rear. With a full fuel tank, the Himalayan 450 weighs 198kg, which is a lot. 

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 – More details 

The Himalayan 450 is going to come in three variant options – Base, Pass and Summit. Also, the bike comes in five colour options: Kaza Brown, Slate Himalayan Slat, Slate Poppy Blue, Kamet White and Hanle Black. Talking about the features, the Himalayan 450 comes with a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, riding modes, LED lighting standard, and tail light integrated into turn indicators. 

Launch & pricing

The Himalayan 450 is slated to be launched on 7th November 2023. What about the pricing? Pricing-wise, the Himalayan 450 is expected to be priced around the Rs 3 lakh mark (on-road, Mumbai). Once launched, it will rival bikes like the BMW 310 GS and the KTM 390 ADV.
