While many actors and actresses have been leaning toward the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 SUV, there are a few who are opting for the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class as their new ride. Anil Kapoor, a prominent actor, falls into the latter category, as he has recently added a brand-new Mercedes-Maybach S 580 to his car collection.
A Mumbai-based Mercedes-Benz dealership recently shared a couple of pictures on its social media platforms, showcasing Anil Kapoor taking delivery of a brand-new Mercedes-Maybach S 580 4MATIC. Finished in an elegant shade of Emerald Green, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class complements Anil Kapoor’s evergreen image. He is known as one of the fittest actors in Bollywood and is the first actor to choose a Mercedes-Maybach car or SUV in Emerald Green.
While Anil Kapoor has added the latest-generation Mercedes-Maybach S-Class to his car collection, he is not the first in the film industry to do so. The top-tier ultra-luxury sedan from Mercedes-Benz, based on its flagship S-Class sedan, has already been acquired by other Bollywood personalities, including Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor, and Kiara Advani. However, while others have opted for the more powerful S 680 4MATIC, Anil Kapoor has chosen the less expensive S 580 4MATIC variant of the Maybach S-Class.

The Mercedes-Maybach S 580 4MATIC that Anil Kapoor purchased is based on the seventh-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which was launched in India in early 2022. Unlike the top-tier S 680 4MATIC, powered by the 6.0-liter V12 engine, the S 580 4MATIC features a 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 mild-hybrid petrol engine under its hood. Paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, this engine in the Maybach S-Class delivers 496 bhp of maximum power and 700 Nm of maximum torque. The 4MATIC designation indicates that it comes with standard all-wheel drive configuration.
While many actors and actresses are leaning toward the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 SUV, it is refreshing to see that there are still personalities who prefer the Maybach S-Class sedan over the SUV. The price of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class starts at Rs 2.69 crore (ex-showroom) in India.
Anil Kapoor gifted Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV to his wife
On Sunita Kapoor’s birthday in 2021, Anil Kapoor gifted her a brand-new Mercedes-Benz GLS. The luxurious vehicle was parked at their home, attracting a crowd of paparazzi eager to catch a glimpse and capture pictures of the car.
The new GLS model showcases a sleek and sharp design, featuring a larger grille and sleek all-LED headlamps compared to its predecessor. It also boasts increased dimensions, with a length that extends by 77mm, width by 22mm, and a 60mm longer wheelbase. The rear of the GLS is adorned with split LED tail lamps, adding to its stylish appeal.
Anil Kapoor has previously owned a Maybach model, specifically the S550, which he cherished for a significant period. The Maybach S500 is renowned for its luxurious features, including seat massagers and rear entertainment screens. Produced in India, the Maybach S500 is imported as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kit. Its power stems from a massive 4.7-litre V8 bi-turbo engine, capable of producing an impressive maximum of 455 Bhp and 700 Nm of peak torque.
