CID television show actor Dayanand Shetty buys a new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650

The television show “Crime Investigation Department,” more commonly known as CID, was one of the longest-running shows in Indian television history. The show ran for a total of 20 years from 1998 to 2018. One of the main stars of the show was Actor Dayanand Shetty, who was known as Daya in the show. Recently, the actor took delivery of a brand new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. The pictures and videos of him taking delivery of his bike have been shared online.

The videos of the actor Dayanand Shetty picking up his new bike have been shared on Instagram by Palladium Royal Enfield on their official page. In the first video, the CID fame actor was seen arriving at the showroom and then being greeted by the sales representatives. After entering the showroom, he first signed a few essential documents and finally took the covers off of his new motorcycle. Dayanand was also seen cutting a cake and sharing it with the showroom staff. Later, he took the bike for his maiden ride.

Palladium Royal Enfield also shared another video on their page with the actor. In this short video, the actor, after taking the delivery of his Super Meteor 650, shared the story about the purchase of this bike. He stated that he recently got back the itch to buy a new bike and wanted to get a Bullet. He then added that after seeing this bike, he got hooked and finally decided to buy it. Dayanand mentioned that, being the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras, he is taking the delivery of the bike and asks people to check out the new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 cruiser motorcycle.

Back in January of this year, the Chennai-based bikemaker Royal Enfield launched its most expensive offering, the Superb Meteor 650 cruiser bike. This range-topping motorcycle from Royal Enfield currently starts at a price of Rs 3.54 lakh, going all the way up to Rs 3.84 lakh. The Super Meteor 650 is offered by the brand in three variants, namely Astral, Interstellar, and Celestial.

The Astral and Interstellar variants come under the Standard version. Meanwhile, the Celestial variant serves as the top-of-the-line Tourer version. When compared to the Standard version, the Tourer version gets exclusive dual-tone Celestial paint schemes, a pillion backrest, and a transparent windscreen. The base-spec Astral variant offers three colors, while the Interstellar and Celestial variants each have two color options.

In terms of the powertrain, the new Super Meteor 650 comes equipped with a four-stroke, parallel-twin, air-cooled, 648cc engine, the same engine found in the Interceptor and Continental GT 650. In the Super Meteor 650, this engine has been equipped with revised mapping and gearing, producing a maximum power output of 47 bhp and a peak torque output of 52 Nm. The bike has a kerb weight of 241 kg, making it the heaviest Royal Enfield motorcycle.
