Finally, after months of waiting, the Chennai-based bike manufacturing giant Royal Enfield has launched its newest adventure motorcycle, the Himalayan 452. The company has launched this new bike with a starting price of Rs. 2.69 lakh. Bookings for the Himalayan 452 are now open.

Royal Enfield has launched the new Himalayan 452 adventure motorcycle with a starting price of Rs 2.69 lakh, which will go all the way up to Rs 2.84 lakh. The company has announced that this pricing will be valid till midnight of December 31, 2023. The base variant, which is the Kaza Brown colored model, has been priced at Rs 2.69 lakh. Meanwhile, the Pass variant, which will be offered in Slate Himalayan Salt and Slate Poppy Blue color, has been priced at Rs 2.74 lakh. The summit variant offered in Kamet White has been priced at Rs 2.79 lakh. Meanwhile, the Summit variant in Hanle Black color has been priced at Rs 2.84 lakh.

Design and Dimensions

First off, let’s talk about the design of the brand-new Himalayan 452. According to the senior officials from the brand, no part of the old Himalayan 411 has been carried over to the Himalayan 452. The bike is based on an all-new lighter and stronger steel, twin-spar tubular frame. It also features a bigger and wider fuel tank, which now offers a capacity of 17 litres. The bike also gets newly designed front and rear fenders and a bigger seat.

Coming to the dimensions of the new Himalayan 452 adventure motorcycle, it measures 2245 mm in length, 852 mm in width, and 1316 mm in height. It also offers a wheelbase of 1510 mm and 230 mm ground clearance. The overall weight of the bike in its dry state is around 181 kgs, and with 90% fuel and all the oils, it will weigh around 196 kgs. It will offer a payload capacity of 198 kgs.

Features and Color Options

As for the features, the Chennai-based bikemaker has provided a lot of technological features to this new bike. All of the lights on the new Himalayan 452 will be LEDs, including the front circular headlight, turn indicators on the front and rear, and also the rear taillamp. Another one of the main highlights of this new bike will be its new 4-inch round TFT display with phone connectivity, full map navigation, and media controls. Additionally, the bike will offer multiple ride modes as well as a USB Type-C charging port.

Coming to the aesthetic side of things, the company will be offering the new Himalayan 452 in 5 color options. The list of these colors includes Hanle Black with vibrant gold accents, Camp Kamet White, Slate Himalayan Salt, Slate Poppy Blue, and lastly, it will also come in Kaza Brown color, which is a sandstorm shade of color.

Suspension and Braking

The suspension duties on the new Himalayan 452 will be handled by an upside-down fork suspension at the front. Additionally, on the rear, it will get a monoshock suspension. The front wheel will have a total travel of an impressive 200 mm, and on the rear as well, it will have 200 mm of travel.

Coming to the braking side of things, the bike will come equipped with 320 mm hydraulic disc brakes at the front, while the rear will get a 270 mm disc brake caliper. The bike will also get switchable dual-channel ABS. Meanwhile, the wheels and tire setup of the bike will include a 21-inch spoked wheel at the front. And on the rear, it will come equipped with a 17-inch spoked wheel. One of the main highlights will be that it will come equipped with spoked wheels, which will be tubeless.

Finally, the main highlight of the new Himalayan 452 adventure motorcycle is its brand new engine. The newly developed engine, which has been named the Sherpa 452, is Royal Enfield’s first liquid-cooled engine on a motorcycle. It is a 452cc single-cylinder, DOHC, 4-valve setup. In terms of the power specifications of this semi-dry sump engine, it will produce around 40 bhp at 8000 rpm and generate around 40 Nm of torque. The new engine will come mated to a 6-speed wet clutch, which will also offer slip and assist. The new Himalayan 452 will also feature ride-by-wire.
