Back in June of this year, Maruti Suzuki India Limited launched the much-anticipated off-roader Jimny in India. The model initially had extremely strong demand and was selling like hotcakes; however, recently the sales of this dedicated off-roader have slumped. So, in order to give a boost to the sales of this SUV, the company is offering around Rs 2 lakh discount on its base Zeta variant. Recently, a video showing this base variant of the Jimny and explaining the details of this new discount has been shared online.
Jimny Zeta Exterior
This video of the Jimny base Zeta variant with the explanation of its massive discount has been shared on YouTube by MRD Cars on their channel. The presenter starts off the video with a walkaround of the Jimny Zeta variant. He begins by showing the front of the vehicle, which comes equipped with a matte black bumper that misses out on the fog lamps and headlight washers. He adds that the base variant also does not get the luxury of projector headlights and gets normal halogen headlights instead.
After the front, the presenter shows the side profile of the base Jimny Zeta. This variant does not get the same 10-spoke gunmetal grey alloy wheels. Instead, it comes with 15-inch black steel rims. It also does not get disc brakes in the rear wheels. He then shows the rear end of the car and mentions that it looks exactly the same and gets the spare mounted wheel with cover, rear wiper and washer, along with the rear windshield defogger.
Jimny Zeta Interior
Following the exterior, he shows the interior of the Jimny Zeta variant. This variant gets the same dashboard layout. However, it misses out on the bigger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and gets a smaller 7-inch touchscreen. It also does not come with automatic climate control and gets a manual air conditioning system. The rest of the interior is the same as the top-spec model.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny Zeta Rs 2 Lakh Discount
After talking about the exterior and interior of the car, the presenter talks about the massive discount on the model. He starts by stating this variant is the automatic variant and currently, it is being offered for Rs 14 lakh on-road. He stated that the company is offering a discount of Rs 1.5 lakh on the Jimny, and he also added that the dealership is also offering a discount of around Rs 40,000-50,000 on top of it. In total, the car is being offered with a discount of Rs 2 lakh. Although not mentioned in the video, some dealerships are also offering up to Rs 1 lakh discount on the top-spec Alpha variant of the Jimny as well.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny Pricing
Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny starts at Rs 12.74 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 15.05 lakh. The base Zeta variant with the manual transmission is priced at Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom), while the automatic variant is priced at Rs 13.94 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Jimny Alpha variant with a manual transmission is priced at Rs 13.69 lakh. The same variant with dual-tone is priced at Rs 13.85 lakh. Lastly, the Jimny Alpha variant with the automatic transmission is priced at Rs 14.89 (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the Alpha dual-tone variant is priced at Rs 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom).
