In the preview image of the electric SUV, we can see a sharp design language. All-in-all, we could see a clean design with not many cuts & creases like the ID.2 All. Compared to the ID.2 All of it will have a more upright design, bulkier wheel arches, a unique C-pillar and a rear spoiler. In terms of dimensions, the ID.2 All will be 4.1m in length and will have a wheelbase of 2,600mm. These dimensions make it slightly smaller than the Taigun. In the interiors, it is expected to come with a 12.9-inch infotainment system and a 10.9-inch digital instrument cluster. Thankfully, Volkswagen will be providing physical buttons for the audio and climate controls.

Power train and battery

The electric SUV is expected to come with a front-wheel drive setup. The motor is expected to be a 213bhp unit with two battery pack options – 38kWh and 56kWh. The bigger one is said to deliver a claimed range of around 450km. According to reports, the bigger battery pack could come with a 125kW charging capability that could take just 20 minutes to charge from 10 to 80%.

Earlier, the Head of Volkswagen, Thomas Schafer had stated that the ID.2 All could be manufactured in India to keep costs down. This is because VW already has a manufacturing plant in India, and the cost of manufacturing will be lower in India. So, there is hope that we could see the electric SUV in India. If launched, it should take on cars like the Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti eVX and Tata Curvv EV.
