Mahindra cars have become favourites for the customers with their list of features and powerful engines. With its upcoming cars, like the Thar 5-door and XUV300 facelift things are only going to get merrier for the brand and also the customers. Sales numbers
Mahindra sold just 49 units of the Marazzo in November 2023. Also, this is not just a one-off as in the last three months Mahindra has only sold 282 units of the Marazzo. These numbers are abysmal for a 7-seater during the festive season. If Mahindra wants to increase its sales, it needs to update the Marazzo or discontinue it altogether.
Why didn’t it sell?
Mahindra did the right thing by targeting the sweet spot between the Ertiga and Innova. Something similar to what Kia has done with the Carens. Still, sadly for Mahindra, it didn’t work out well. To its credit, the Marazzo is praised for its roomier cabin and comfort-oriented cabin. However, it had some major flaws like no automatic gearbox and no petrol engine. It also didn’t offer any gimmicks or fancy features. By the time, Mahindra figured it out, Marazzo was already a flop product and there was no way Mahindra could revive it.
2024 Mahindra Marazzo – Is this the end of the road?
Mahindra has been quite tightlipped about what it is going to do with the Marazzo. It feels like Mahindra has forgotten that a product like Marazzo exists in its product lineup. There were some rumours of Marazzo getting a facelift, but that seems unlikely now. So, the best option for Mahindra seems to be discontinuing the Marazzo. This will also free much-needed production capacity for its upcoming SUVs.
