Design

Tata Curvv

The very first unique factor which Curvv has is the design. Now honestly we do not speak much about design as it is a personal choice. But what makes the Curvv unique in its styling is the coupe design. Unlike any other SUVs which has a typical boxy design, the Curvv will have a coupe design which could attract many buyers. We have seen coupe designs on luxury SUVs like the BMW X4 or BMW X6. But as Tata will introduce a coupe SUV at an affordable price, it will be welcomed by many. By the way, we will have another coupe SUV in this segment, let us know in the comments which will be that SUV.

Safety

Tata Nexon safety

Tata cars and safety walks together! They became the first brand to score 5-star safety rating with the Nexon and later continued scoring 5-star on all upcoming cars. Even the smaller SUV Punch also scored 5-star ratings whereas the Harrier and Safari scored the highest adult and safety ratings in India. Similarly we can be very sure that the Curvv will definitely score the 5-star rating. Whereas the Creta scored 3-star ratings at Global NCAP. Will the new Creta manage to score 5-star? It may, because the Verna was the first Hyundai to score 5-star rating and so we can expect the Creta to achieve that milestone as well. However, we believe that Curvv will score more on adult and child safety ratings than the Creta.

Performance

Tata tgdi engine

One of the biggest reasons which can outperform the Hyundai Creta will be performance. Tata Motors had showcased two new petrol engines – a 1.2-litre TGDi and a 1.5-litre TGDi. Out of both these options, it is said that the 1.5-litre TGDi engine will be introduced with the Curvv. This unit is capable of producing 168bhp and 280Nm of peak torque, making it the most powerful engine in the segment. The second powerful engine is Creta’s 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. It is capable of producing 158bhp and 253Nm of peak torque.

Ride & Comfort

Another strong point of the Tata Curvv over the Creta is the ride quality and overall comfort. It is a known fact that Tata SUVs offer best in class ride quality and seat comfort. So the same can be said for the Curvv as well. Tata Curvv will be based on Nexon’s X1 platform which offers excellent ride quality and high speed stability. Now the Hyundai Creta is a comfortable SUV but just that we expect the Curvv to be more comfortable.

Boot space

Finally, we can expect a better boot space with the Curvv. No, we don’t have exact figures of the boot space but we believe it to be more than the Creta. As we said the Tata Curvv will have a coupe SUV design, we can expect a better boot space. Curvv will probably have a sedan-like boot which could have more space than Creta’s 433-litre boot.
