New Rs 8 lakh affordable 7-seater coming

The Triber 7-seater has formed its niche customer base in the Indian market. Being a sub-4 metre car, it does have space constraints but can be a great option for people with tight budgets wanting a 7-seater. Using the same formula, Nissan is also working on a new 7-seater. This 7-seater is expected to be based on the Triber but get some new things. So, without wasting much time let’s get into the Nissan 7-seater MPV.

Details

Along with Renault, Nissan plans to launch 6 new products in India. This includes the X-Trail, Magnite facelift and several other options. One of them is also going to be a 7-seater based on the Triber. It will be built along with the Triber at Renault’s Chennai plant. The 7-seater is yet to be named but will be positioned slightly lower than the Magnite. The 7-seater and Magnite could help Nissan keep afloat till the arrival of its C-SUV based on the Duster

What to expect?

Design is expected to become the major differentiating factor between this new 7-seater and Triber. Nissan’s version could get a design similar to the Magnite with a big grille, LED DRLs and halogen headlamps. In the interior, we could see some tweaks in colour or button placements. Feature-wise, it could come with an infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, oof-mounted AC controls, push button start-stop etc. Specification-wise, it would continue with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol capable of producing 71bhp and 96Nm of torque. Transmission options include a manual and an AMT gearbox.

Nissan 7-seater MPV – Launch timeline

Nissan 7-seater MPV

There is no definitive launch timeline. But being based on the Triber, it shouldn’t be a hard job for Nissan. Also, considering Nissan is only surviving on the sales of Magnite, it would look to bring the new 7-seater MPV sometime in 2024. Pricing-wise, we can expect a starting price of Rs 8 lakh and going to Rs 11 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
