eVX launch details
Maruti has confirmed that it plans to launch an eSUV in the financial year 2024-2025. This eSUV is none other than the eVX model showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 and more recently at the Tokyo Motor Show. Newer reports are suggesting that Maruti could unveil the production version of the eVX by the end of 2024. The pricing reveal could happen in the first half of 2025. Toyota will also have its version that could be unveiled after the eVX.
What do we know so far?
Recently, the eVX was first time spotted testing in India. The spied car was heavily camouflaged but had design elements similar to the concept model shown in Tokyo. The LED headlamps looked production-ready. Maruti has revealed the concept interiors, but we don’t expect them to make their way into the production model. We could only see some elements like two floating systems and touch-based HVAC controls coming on the production model. Other features we expect include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, rotary dial and much more.
Maruti eVX 2024 – Specifications
The eVX and its Toyota iteration will be based on Toyota’s 27PL dedicated EV platform. Maruti is yet to reveal the specifications, but the eVX is expected to come with two powertrain options. There will be a bigger 60kWh battery pack that could deliver a real-world range of 400+km. The second battery pack will be 48kWh with a real-world range of around 350km to 400km. Motor-wise, we can expect single and dual motor options.
