The Jeep Compass is facing a sort of rough time in the market. Its sales have tanked in the last few months. Jeep needs to act soon if it wants to arrest the slide. They need to update the Compass to attract new customers. Recently, Jeep launched the 2024 Compass in Europe. So what kind of updates does it get, and will this updated model come to India? Updates
The European model of the Compass gets several new additions. One of the major ones it now gets Level-2 ADAS. It had ADAS before too, but the brand has added new features, making it a level-2 setup. ADAS features include forward collision warning, active lane management, rear cross-path detection, etc. Other changes include new connected features and new wheels. The rest of the features like the 10.1-inch infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, and automatic climate control continue on this model.
India launch?
A few months back a test mule of the Compass was spotted testing in India. It had some minor tweaks at the front with fog lamps placed slightly below. Could this accommodate the ADAS radar at the front? Only time will tell, but with much more affordable cars getting ADAS, Jeep should bring ADAS on the Compass. Other changes we can see include new alloy wheels and bumpers.
Jeep Compass 2024 – Specifications
Another change we could see on the 2024 Jeep Compass is a new petrol engine. Jeep is working on a new 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine. It had to discontinue the 1.4-litre turbo petrol due to the BS 6 Stage-2 norms. This new engine is expected to be ready by the end of 2024 or early 2025. However, there is uncertainty if this engine will debut on the current model or the new generation model that is expected in 2025.
