Skoda’s New SUV To Be More Powerful Than Mahindra XUV 3XO?

Skoda is currently geared up to launch its compact SUV, Kylaq in the country. The brand has already confirmed the Kylaq will be unveiled globally on 6 November. Skoda Kylaq Launch – Powertrain

Talking about the powertrain, the Skoda Kylaq will be equipped with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine from the Skoda Slavia and Kushaq. This engine is capable of producing 114 bhp and 178 Nm of peak torque. The transmission options will likely include manual and torque converter automatic gearboxes. Now owing to the small size of the Kylaq, the engine is expected to produce more power than the Mahindra XUV 3XO. Additionally, according to Industry rumours, the new Skoda Kylaq will also get a 1.5-litre for a limited time. The 1.5-litre petrol engine is expected to produce 150 bhp making it the most powerful SUV in its segment.

What Else?

Skoda is currently busy advertising its upcoming compact SUV in the country. In fact, the company has hired Harun Robert, a.k.a Rob from MAD to create a bespoke camouflage wrap for the SUV. In the images shared by the artist, the Kylaq is covered with diversified Indian scripts painted in green and red. The upcoming Skoda’s compact SUV will be underpinned by the MQB A0 27 platform. Additionally, the Kylaq will share its design elements with the recently launched Elroq SUV. The new model will come equipped with Skoda’s signature grille, LED headlamps, a newly designed bumper and similar tail lamps. The Kylaq will run on 17-inch new alloy wheels.

The Skoda Kylaq is expected to offer premium interior and better safety features including a large touchscreen infotainment unit, digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, ventilated seats and more in its package. Moreover, the Kylaq will also offer an electric sunroof.

Skoda has recently announced that its upcoming Kylaq compact SUV will be unveiled globally on November 6. The same will go on sale by early 2025 in the country. Talking about the price, the new Skoda Kylaq is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
