Among these, the Nexon has been one of the safest SUVs available. The Nexon has secured 5-star ratings at the Global NCAP. Now, it is highly possible that the upcoming Nexon rival could be safer than the Tata Nexon!

Skoda Kylaq Safety
Currently, the Nexon is the safest SUV in the segment. However, the Mahindra XUV 3XO, which is yet to be tested, had secured a similar score in its previous gen avatar. After these, it is the Kiger-Magnite twins to secure next best scores at 4-star ratings. Now, with Skoda entering the segment, we firmly believe it to be the new safe SUV after Tata Nexon!

It is a known fact that Skoda always has safety as its priority. Even its India specific models – Kushaq & Slavia have secured 5-star safety ratings at Global NCAP. These cars are based on MQB AO IN platform which have helped the brand to achieve 5-star ratings. Now, the upcoming Skoda SUV, the Skoda Kylaq, will be based on the same platform. However, we might see some updates to the platform for enhanced safety. Considering all the facts, the Skoda Kylaq will probably achieve better ratings than the Kushaq or Slavia.
Tata Nexon VS Skoda Kylaq
In 2022, Skoda Kushaq successfully secured 5-star safety ratings. Breaking down even further, the SUV scored 29.64 out of 34 for adult safety and 42 out of 49 for child safety. On the other hand, the Nexon facelift which was tested again this year, scored 32.22 out of 34 for adult safety. Whereas for child safety it scored 44.52 out of 49.

So it is strongly believed that Skoda might work more for the safety of its upcoming SUV. Talking about the product, the Kylaq will make its global debut on 16th of November 2024. Whereas the prices are expected to be announced in January 2025!
