New Rs 20 Lakh SUV Is Safer Than Tata Harrier

Citroen recently revealed the crash test results of its coupe SUV, Basalt, in the country. Following this, many were eager for Tata to release details about the Curvv’s safety. Now, Bharat NCAP has published a new set of crash test results for both the Tata Curvv ICE and EV. As Tata is known for offering maximum safety, both the models have produced an impressive result. Tata Curvv Crash Test – What’s New 

Tata Curvv Crash Test

Recently Tata crash tested both ICE and EV iterations of the Curvv. Both the models have secured a 5-star safety rating, while they have achieved slightly different scores for adult and child occupant protection. Tata Curvv variants come with safety features like 6 airbags (as standard), electronic stability control (ESC), 3-point seatbelt for all seats, seatbelt reminder for all seats, ABS with EBD, 360-degree camera and level 2 ADAS suite.

Talking about the Curvv ICE, BNCAP tested the diesel Accomplished +A variant. The Curvv ICE variant provided good protection for the driver’s and passenger’s upper body, while protection to the tibias region was rated marginal. The model received 29.50 points out of 32 in adult occupant protection. Moreover, the Curvv scored 43.66 points out of a total of 49 child occupant protection test providing good protection for the 18-month-old and 3-year-old child dummy.

Tata Curvv EV Crash Test

While the EV also provided the same result offering good protection for the driver and co-driver’s upper-body and adequate protection for the tibias area of both occupants. The electric coupe-SUV got 30.81 points out of 32 in adult occupant protection. The Curvv EV’s child occupant protection (COP) score was 44.83 points, out of a total of 49. These ratings are applicable to the entire Curvv EV line-up, which comes with either a 45kWh or a 55kWh battery pack.

As expected the Curvv offered a better 5 star rating. The Tata Curvv is one of the most feature loaded Coupe SUV in the country. Talking about the pricing, the Tata Curvv is priced between Rs 11.71 lakh and Rs 22.87 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
