Volkswagen New SUV – What’s New

While Skoda is currently preparing to launch the new Kylaq in the country, VW is also planning to launch a C-SUV based on it. The VW version of the Kylaq will get significant exterior changes aligned with the brand’s design language. The design changes will include a new grille, new front and rear lights, bumpers and other cosmetic changes.

The new model will be based on the MQB-A0-27 platform as the Skoda Kylaq. The interior will see a new colour theme for the upholstery that is more sporty. It will also get all the features like a large touchscreen infotainment unit along with a digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, ventilated seats and an electric sunroof among others in its package. Moreover, we expect the VW model to get better safety with an additional 360-degree camera in its package among others.

Volkswagen Kylaq – Powertrain

As currently it’s very early to assume, we expect the model to be mechanically identical to the Skoda Kylaq. Skoda Kylaq will come powered by a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine from the Skoda Slavia and Kushaq. This engine is capable of producing 114 bhp and 178 Nm of peak torque mated to manual and AT gearbox options. Additionally, VW can offer a special 1.5 ‘GT’ version for the buyers who demand punchy performance.

Volkswagen New SUV – Launch

Currently there is no announcement from VW regarding the launch of its Kylaq based SUV. However, we expect the brand to launch the new car by the year 2026. Talking about pricing, as it is too early to expect the price, VW could price the new Kylaq based SUV aggressively to make a mark in the Indian auto market.
