Creta getting a design change – New grille looks WOW

Hyundai has taken the Indian SUV market by storm. The major contributor to this SUV boom for Hyundai is the Creta. The Creta was launched in 2015 and since then has become one of the best selling cars in India. Last year, Hyundai brought the second generation of the Creta. The model has been doing phenomenally well in terms of sales for the Korean automaker. Now, Hyundai might give Creta a mid-life update. Recently, a facelift version of the Creta was spotted testing in Indonesia once again. In today’s article, we will talk about this 2022 Hyundai Creta facelift that has been spotted again.

What do we know so far?

Similar to the earlier spy shots, the Creta facelift is going to get a big upgrade in its exterior design. The front of this upcoming Creta facelift will be based on the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson. Similar to Tucson, the LED DRLs on both sides seamlessly integrate with the similarly shaped grill. The front bumper will get a redesigned look with new fog lamps and a faux skid plate. New alloy wheels were also spotted in the spy shots. The rest of the side profile and dimensions are expected to be similar.

What else can we expect from the 2022 Hyundai Creta facelift?

The rear end of the Creta might get Tucson inspired split-tail lamp setup to go with the front. The current Creta has well laid-out interior and features. It comes with features like a 7.0-inch instrument cluster, an eight-speaker Bose premium sound system, connected car tech and front ventilated seats. Some added features it might get are a 360-degree camera, blind-view monitor and heads-up display (HUD).

Considering it is a facelift, we expect Hyundai to retain the same engine and transmission options for the upcoming car. The current Creta comes with three engine options. The 1.5-litre petrol engine comes mated to a six-speed manual and six-speed CVT automatic gearbox. This unit produces 113bhp and 144Nm of torque. The 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine comes mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox and produces 138bhp and 242Nm of torque. The 1.5 diesel engine produces 113bhp and 250Nm of torque and comes mated with a six-speed manual and a torque converter gearbox.
