2024 Tata Nexon Facelift: Fresh video shows new details

One of the most popular sub-compact SUVs in the country, the Tata Motors Nexon, will soon receive a significant facelift. As reported, the model will most likely go on sale in August of this year. The facelifted model is set to receive numerous cosmetic changes on the outside and a new interior with additional features. The facelifted model has been spotted testing on the country roads a few times now, and most recently, another spy video of the Nexon facelift made its way onto the internet. The video shows the SUV on the road in great detail.

The video of the facelifted Tata Nexon being tested on the highway has been uploaded to YouTube by The Fat Biker on their channel. From the video, it can be seen that the SUV is covered in full-body camouflage, hiding most of the updated features of the forthcoming model. However, some of the most significant changes that this all-new Nexon will boast are still discernible.

Firstly, the front of the new Nexon will be completely redesigned, most likely featuring a design inspired by Tata’s forthcoming coupe SUV Curvv. The video shows that the front will have a muscular upright appearance, with two large grilles at the front for cooling the powerplant. It will also get a split LED DRL and headlamp design. While it has not been confirmed, the SUV could receive a connected LED DRL at the front, but it will most likely get a setup similar to other Tata SUVs in the lineup.

From the sides, we can observe that the car will remain practically the same as the outgoing model, offering the same silhouette, height, and design. The only unique part about the side of the SUV in the video was that the alloy wheels were also covered in the same camouflage as the body, which hints that the alloy wheels might be different in the new model.

Another significant upgrade, as mentioned and observed from the video, is the rear end. Tata will be changing the entire rear end with an all-new bumper, LED taillights, and overall design. The model will most certainly get the connected LED taillamps in the rear to make it look more distinct and premium. Another major highlight from this spy video was the interior of the test mule.

The center console of the test mule was covered with a covering, indicating that the model will most likely get a new dashboard layout. It will most likely feature a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which we have seen on the upgraded Harrier and Safari. A new TFT instrument console and ADAS features in top-spec models are further interior improvements that will likely be included in the SUV.

Regarding the drivetrain options, the updated Tata Nexon will get a new 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, previewed at the Auto Expo 2023. The new engine claims a maximum power output of 125 bhp and 225 Nm, 5 bhp and 55 Nm more than the current engine’s claimed performance numbers. In addition to the proposed 6-speed DCT, this new petrol engine will also be offered with a 6-speed manual from the current version of the SUV. Furthermore, the 2023 Tata Nexon will continue to offer the 1.5-liter 110 horsepower diesel engine as the second available powerplant, despite most compact cars and SUVs avoiding diesel options.
